“Swish” was the sound that the net made as Klay Thompson hit a three pointer. This was just one of the interesting things that happened in the Warrior’s vs Raptor’s first preseason game. This was a tough game made up of extremely talented players, resulting in the close score.
The game started with the Warriors putting in their new player Kevin Durant, who Stephen Curry said was a “veteran player” but he had “anxiousness and adrenaline just from getting out there for the first time.” . Stephen Curry said that because Kevin Durant had just joined the team this season. In the beginning of the game, Klay Thompson hit a three pointer. The Raptors retaliated with a very interesting basket. They missed a shotandmissed the tip in, but then they finally got the rebound into the basket. Continuing on in the first quarter, for the Warriors, Kevin Durant drove to the basket and dunked. Another highlight was when Andre Iguodala hit a buzzer beater in the last seconds. As you can see, this quarter was filled with impressive plays by the Warriors, but the Raptors weren’t far behind. The final score of the first quarter was 22-20 Warriors leading.
The beginning of the second quarter was eventful for the Raptors as Terrence Ross scored 9 points early on. DeMar DeRozan scored 9 points for his team as well . Klay Thompson for the Warriors led his team scoring 16 points. A highlight from this quarter was when the Raptors scored a backwards reverse layup. Overall, this quarter went very well for the Raptors because of their amazing shots and good plays.
When the third quarter started, the two teams started with very different lineups, for the Raptors had their starters in and the Warriors had many bench players in. Even though the Warriors had this as their lineup, the score remained very close. A highlight from this quarter was when the raptors hit a three pointer in the last second. This quarter ended similar to the other ones, however this time the Raptors had the two point lead.
The final quarter came and it was somewhat uneventful as both teams had started or given their rookies a lot of playing time. However, the rookies did well and scored many points for their teams. An interesting thing from this quarter was when Patrick McCaw for the Warriors led his team, however Pascal Siakam led the Raptors to their win. Overall, this game contained great shots and excellent use of teamwork. The game ended with the Raptors finishing up a tough game and winning against a team that had won the championship not long before. The final score of this intense and well played game was 97-93.
