Ed Sheeran Ed Sheeran released two new songs by the names of “Shape of You” and “Castle on the Hill.” These songs have skyrocketed past the record for most one day streams on spotify. The previous record was held by One Direction and Wiz Khalifa, whose songs “Drag Me Down” and “See You Again” had 4.8 and 4.3 million views respectively. “Shape of You” and “Castle on the Hill” had 6.9 and 6.1 views, blowing these records out of the water.
Bad and Boujee This song by hip hop group Migos featuring rapper Lil Uzi Vert tops the streaming charts for the second week in a row, with 35 million streams. These streams have come from mostly YouTube and Spotify. 19.3 streams million came from YouTube and 9.2 million from Spotify. “Bad and Boujee” also climbed to the #2 spot in downloads, with 76,000 along with topping the Hot R&B/Hip Hop Songs and Hot Rap Songs charts.
Rockabye Clean Bandits “Rockabye” featuring Sean Paul and Annemarie, has topped the Australian Top Singles chart for the 6th week in a row. “Rockabye” has been atop the UK charts for 9 weeks also. This single by Clean Bandits is the reason that The Weekend’s hit single “Starboy” featuring Daft Punk has stalled at #2 to this point on the international charts.
Eminem Eminem will be releasing a new album in 2017. This will be his first since “The Marshall Mathers lp 2” was released in 2013. His new album will feature more collaborations with Rihanna, along with featuring some Snoop Dogg, Dr Dre, and Adele. Up to this point, the Rap God has not told anyone of a release date.
